We are excited to host the Ka Ora, Ka Ako workshop series—a powerful platform for change. Your voice matters, and together, we will develop a compelling business case for an enhanced Ka Ora, Ka Ako model that supports local and sustainable food systems.

Hosted by Nourishing Hawke’s Bay: He wairua tō te kai at Te Kura i Awarua Rangahau Māori Research Centre

These workshops are proudly brought to you by Nourishing Hawke’s Bay, in collaboration with the He wairua tō te kai program. This program is dedicated to elevating youth well-being through improved access to healthy food while incorporating mātauranga Māori. Ka Ora, Ka Ako addresses critical issues, including waste reduction, climate change mitigation, combating hunger, and celebrating the cultural significance of food.

Our Challenge: A Food Revolution for Our Community

Despite being known as the ‘fruit bowl of the nation,’ our region faces a challenge: our children are missing out on the bounty of our local produce. Much of it goes to waste or is shipped to distant places.

Imagine a World Where:

Everyone has a seat at the table.
Our community has a say in the menu.
Our environment thrives as our food does.
